Urine, saliva, hair, and blood based screening methods utilize both laboratory and instant testing technologies. Most commonly, collection sites retrieve urine samples, take oral fluids by swabbing the inside cheek, or obtain hair for testing. Samples are either analyzed immediately on-site or shipped overnight to a lab. Negative results are typically posted within 24 hours with positive results generally available within 48 hours.
